KACBMA Highlights Corrugated Pallets & Agri-Packaging as Key Growth Drivers

Strong Industry Response at KACBMA Meeting 2026–27

Bengaluru | 21 February 2026

The Karnataka Corrugated Box Manufacturers Association (KACBMA) conducted its 1st General Meeting for 2026–27 at Hotel St. Marks, witnessing an excellent turnout and active participation from members.

The highlight of the program was a knowledge-rich session by Mr. Ramkumar Sunkara, who addressed key growth opportunities for the corrugated industry. His presentation focused on India’s economic expansion, the Corrugated Pallet Project, and emerging potential in the Fruits & Vegetables packaging segment.

Emphasizing India’s rapid growth as a manufacturing and agri-export hub, Mr. Sunkara outlined the increasing demand for sustainable, lightweight, and export-compliant packaging solutions.

A major takeaway was the Corrugated Pallet Project, positioned as a sustainable alternative to wooden pallets. Benefits such as recyclability, lower weight, elimination of fumigation requirements, and suitability for one-way export logistics were highlighted. With growing environmental regulations, corrugated pallets are expected to become a significant growth avenue.

The session also covered the Fruits & Vegetables segment, stressing the importance of engineering-driven box design — correct flute selection, ventilation planning, moisture resistance, and stack strength — to meet modern retail and export standards.

Member interaction and participation was good, with constructive discussions on diversification and technology adoption.

Felicitation of Immediate Past President Mr. Raghavan T.M

During the meeting, Mr. Raghavan T.M. was felicitated for successfully serving as President of FCBM, recognizing his leadership and contribution to the federation.

Presentation of Upcoming event by IPCMA

Representatives from IPCMA Mr. Nagrajan N also presented details about their upcoming event scheduled in March and requested members to participate in large numbers.

The meeting concluded with Lunch and High Tea, encouraging networking among members.
